ELOPEMENT INSPIRATION
JUST THE TWO OF US!
Miles and miles of cork trees, hot glimmering light over what seems to be endless beige planes, whitewashed traditional rural houses with their yellow, blue or red stripes, here and there an old man sitting on a bench in the shade - welcome to Alentejo! The region in the heart of Portugal is known for its cork production as well as for its olive oil and its heavy and tasty red wine. Here, in the middle of what seems to be nowhere, in the beautiful restored Imani Country House we held our shooting. We worked with the traditional colors found in the hand made stationery, the whimsical & wildflowers, with the classic tile ornaments that we integrated into the jewelry, the stationery, and the table decor and of course with some of the most signature fruits like oranges and limes. We did not want to miss out on two beautiful Mirandese donkeys that live along with the owners, the staff and their guests at Imani Country House. The desert-like elements like the cactus played beautifully into the very traditional concept. The table setting for two featured hand-made pottery from a local Oleiro (the Portuguese word for potter). As a highlight we let the day end at the Chromlech, the largest existing group of structured menhirs in the Iberian Peninsula (and one of the largest in Europe) - we already have Saudade!
